What types of test courses are there?
What kind of testing courses are out there? And which one fits into your career? If we look at the offer that our partner Sogeti has to offer, we can distinguish a number of different types of training. On this page you will learn more about the different types of training and get a better idea of which training or course might suit you!
Different categories
There are numerous training courses you can take to increase your knowledge in the field of software testing. We will not discuss each course in detail, but will limit ourselves to the main types of courses available. A category-level designation is the most common here.
Basic testing courses
A first type of test training is basic test training. As the name suggests, this type of training is really focused on the basics of testing and testing methodologies. For example, there are courses that introduce you to the field, there are courses that are specifically designed for non-testers or you will be introduced to the world of Usability Testing and Exploratory Testing. Often these courses only take one day to complete.
Agile Testing courses
A second type of test training relates to Agile. Agile software development is characterized by short development cycles (iterations) in flexibility, visual working and teamwork. Freely translated, this means that organizations can develop products and services faster. Test training can address testing in Agile environment or train you to become a Practitioner in Agile Quality (PAQ). Agile testing courses are often a bit more extensive than basic courses.
ISTQB® training courses
A third category of testing training courses are focused on the current ISTQB. The abbreviation ISTQB stands for International Software Testing Qualifications Board. This international organization is committed to an unambiguous framework of concepts within a test project. This makes it a globally recognized framework for which courses, tests and certificates are available. The intensity of a course or training varies greatly.
TMap® Suite training courses
A fourth category of testing training relates to the TMap® developed by Sogeti. Since 1995, the TMap® Suite has been considered basic knowledge for professional testers. This type of training includes the TMap® Suite Test Engineer. You can take this course in a digital learning environment with us!
More in-depth test training
In the last category of test training you gain more in-depth knowledge. You can think of a variety of topics. Examples are: the use of AI & Testing, the testing of an infrastructure or the testing of a total chain. The TPI course NEXT Foundation also belongs in this category. The latter model helps companies improve their testing process based on business objectives. Follow the TPI NEXT® Foundation at Testlearning!
